About The Irelander

Ireland is a small island that has punched above its weight in music, literature, sport, comedy, and craic for centuries. The Irelander is here to make sure none of those stories get forgotten, and to keep finding new ones.

We publish stories on Irish history, places, culture, folklore, music, and the characters that shaped the island. Some pieces are serious, some are light, but the goal is always the same: useful, entertaining reading that makes you want to learn one more thing.

What you will find here

• Explore: routes, counties, and places worth the detour
• Culture: music, writing, film, and the everyday stuff that makes Ireland feel like Ireland
• Folklore: the myths and legends, told clearly
• People: notable Irish figures, past and present
